I never was a big picture person, but here is a list of cars I have owned since my first in 1982 (@ 17 year old). Yes, I was stupid/carefree when I was younger and went through new cars every 2 years or so. Ughhh. Lost my passion for buying new cars so frequently when I settled down around 1995 and had other responsibilities to take care of. My 2000 manual Accord was a super-trooper and went to 200K on regular scheduled maintenance only over 15 years (except for power window issues, and a dead CD player).

- 1982 Honda Accord LX Hatchback (manual, burgundy) - thanks mom & dad!
- 1985 Honda Prelude Si (manual, astral blue/gray metallic)
- 1987 Honda CRX Si (manual, red)
- 1988 Acura Integra SE (manual, white)
- 1990 Acura Integra GS (manual, black)
- 1992 Honda Civic Si Hatchback (manual, black)
- 1995 Honda Civic EX Sedan (manual, black)
- 2000 Honda Accord EX Sedan (manual, lapis blue)
- 2015 Toyota Yaris SE (manual, super white)

1964 Dodge Dart that used to be my Grandfather's and was older than me. I used to sit on his lap and steer when I was a kid. It stayed in the family so long I wound up with it. Slant six engine, they last forever. One day on the way to work it died on me and I couldn't get it restarted. I pushed it to the side of the road and made my way to work on foot as I was nearby. Worked my 12 hour shift and went back to where I left it and it wasn't there. I never saw it again. I like to think that somebody found it, got it started, and it lived another life. That was in the early 90's. Great car.

I've had 13 new cars in the past 11 yrs. My 15 Yaris will probably go to my mom or I will keep it as a back up. Had a few Tacomas, Fits, Yaris', Element, and a 13 Avalon Limited that I traded in for the Yaris. The salesman was kind of shocked but the Avalon was pretty boring and an automatic. I'm kinda leaning to Subaru for my next purchase with the standard AWD.

This thread makes me sad lol.

I've owned just 3 cars from age 19 to today, age 36.

My first car was a 1987 Toyota Corolla FX hatchback that my dad handed me down. Drove it for nearly 3 years.
Second was a 1998 Honda Civic LX sedan that I purchased used in 2000. Drove it for 7 years.
Last is my 2007 Yaris liftback.

Just as I was getting over the idea of getting a new/different car, you guys go and post these lists of awesome cars.

Oops! Sorry for the oversized upside down pictures, I have no idea how that happened. Ern-Diz: Honestly, I wish I had my Yaris from the start. I can't tell you how much money I've wasted buying and selling cars.

Thanks, but I'm sure you got a lot of enjoyment/memories from each one. Not really wasted if you look at it that way.

Other vehicles I've owned

Now I'm on my 5th Toyota, which is a 2014 Yaris L. Talk about going from largest to smallest. A few years ago I had an 84 Toyota Sunrader motorhome which was based on a stretched Toyota truck chassis. It was too big for the 2.3 liter engine. Darn thing weighed 5000 lbs. empty. Nice for comfy camping, which was the only way my ex would camp. But it just wasn't any fun to drive. Could only get 18 mpg highway at best. I've also owned a 74 Toyota Chinook, which is a smaller camper with a pop top. It was a better size, about a 1000 pounds lighter than the Sunrader, and could get 21 mpg. Whenever it rained, the poptop would leak badly. The 74 VW camper van was one of the better campers I owned. Didn't have a poptop,. But it got the same mpg as the Chinook. A 1980 Ford Econoline van 6 cyl. 4 speed manual.I also had an 88 Toyota pickup which gave me many years of good service. I had a 96 Toyota Tercel , manual transmission , good reliable car which compares with my Yaris. My very 1st car back during the 70s was a 62 VW bug. then a 72 Datsun 510, 74 Ford Pinto, 71 Datsun 1200.. 79 and 84 Dodge Colt hatchback, similar to a Yaris hatchback. got great mileage up 47 mpg, made by Mitsubishi. The last car before my Yaris was a 2003 Honda Civic. Think I've covered all my vehicles over the last 40 years!! Sometime I'll have to scan a few photos of them.
