TNS410 mic not working

Hi, newbie here

I recently bought a 2011 Yaris T Spirit, with the TNS 410 installed. When I use the hands-free, my phone is recognised; I can dial any of the numbers copied from my Windows phone; the connection is completed and answered. I can hear the person I am calling clearly but they cannot hear me. I have called several numbers; I have connected my wife's phone; the result is the same. They cannot hear anything from my end. It would seem there is a problem with the in-car mic, but I have no idea where it is located. In the interior light? In the TNS unit? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

The microphone is the tiny slot on the upper left side of the screen frame.

I don't believe that there is a menu option to adjust the mic volume. The owners manual warns to not poke that little hole, as it will damage the mic.

Windows Phone... settings, bluetooth, advanced, check the box that says "connect in a different way", and see if that helps.

Thanks Kar98. Changed my phone settings and rang my wife at home. Good connection as usual.
'Hello......hello.....can you hear me now?' 'Hello.....hello.....are you talking yet? Can't hear anything....' Oh well, it was worth a try, and I do appreciate you taking the time to reply. Thanks again

Update: Vantage Toyota in York replaced the head unit under warranty, and I now have hands-free communication. Thanks for your advice, CTScott and Kar98.
