FIXING YOUR CAR DENT WITH A HAIR DRYER..?

It works. I tried this on my friends car. His was pretty big dent too. We used a heat gun though for heatshrink tubing instead of a lighter. The trick is to use the duster very fast so you see frost and POP out the dent.

Used that method on my dad's Nissan Titan. If I didn't point it out, you wouldn't notice that it was hit by a 2x4 debris from the highway.
However, I didn't use a can of duster. I heated 'til it was flexible and pushed out the dent. I might use the duster method, seems more conventional. |

I used this technique this to remove two dents from my rear quarter panel. It took a few tries but it certainly worked.

On plastic pieces like the bumper, just heating it til you can push it will work. On my corolla I took the bumper off and set it up about 2 feet in front of the space heater and pushed a pretty good dent out.
For metal, this totally makes sense. When you cool the metal down it will contract - this will most likely cause it to straighten out and return to its original shape.. If you have any folding this will most likely not work though. I haven't tried it, but I have a ding on the side door I might try it on. I don't know how good freezing, and then bending your paint will be.. I think you can expect chipping at some point doing this. |

I have a real small dent on my hatch from where an irrisponsible neighbor left his can behind my car in the dark....
will it work with smaller dents?

Hmm I'm getting mixed reviews. So the hair dryer method doesn't work with some people, but it does work with some people. I guess I'll try out the dry ice method..

Best method it’s called, Dent Wizard I used pops a dent, and some other so it your self methods and there is nothing like a real professional job.

I tried it once on a small dent I had on my truck, it didn't work. I think it works best if you can do it as soon as the dent happens. The dent on my truck had been there for a while.
