I was thinking of doing a front suspension lift similar to what CTScott did with Crashy, just maybe utilizing plates with three holes in them so it’s not quite 4”. Then maybe just some slightly bigger springs in the rear, maybe from an xD to level it out.

Maritime, your don’t think the Cali Yaris has any lift on it all all? You think it’s all tire lift and he just trimmed fenders?

When I look at the rear axle it looks like its in the same place as stock. He has major offset and trimmed arches so tire lift is all of the height at least to me.

The second picture rear coil look bit to compressed maybe from the top spring...1.5in give the chance to put tire 3in diameter bigger and keep stock wheelgap at 27in tire that pretty nice

Yeah it’s very possible that it’s all tire lift I guess. I’m wondering if a guy could get away with less drastic of a wheel offset, without lift, and without rubbing issues up front.

Myfirstyota, do you by chance have any pictures of the front end lift plates that you fabricated up?

I actually just cut them today. I have yet to drill the 16 holes in the 4, 1/4" thick plates its gonna take to make these work. And there's still another 6 spacer plates with 2 holes each that need to be fabricated. However the spacer plates will be thinner metal so should be easier to drill.

I plan on fabricating the other rear spring spacer this weekend. If all goes well there, we could have a rear lift in by Sunday

I think the rear axle on the black California yaris pictured looks pushed down. If you look at the center of the wheel in comparison to the bottom of the body, it looks in line. Mine kinda sits above the bottom of the car, and I have way stiffer xd springs in mine.

Can anyone with stock springs with a hatchback chime in? Where does the center of your rear hub sit in relation to the bottom of the car?

I also thought of this, but didn't want to regret not going high enough!! Hahah I'm aiming for 3&3/4" in the front with the 4 hole setup. I think that, plus whatever I can fit in tires, will make this car a monster. It already climbs snowbanks like an atv.

I have a 5dr hatch on stock springs and the rear hub is in line with the bottom of the rear bumper and maybe a couple inches above the bottom of the car body (between the front and rear wheels).

I mean I suppose I could always make a four hole set and if it’s too high just cut some off the end of each bracket and end up with a three hole set. Did you get a noticeable lift in the rear with just the xD springs prior to fabricating your spring mount towers?

Also, came across this on Instagram too. Guys brother made a killer custom roof rack for his Yaris and lifted it with what he said were 4Runner coils in the rear and strut mount extenders. Makes me wonder if just throwing some 4Runner springs back there is what he’s talking about?

The lift on xd springs was noticible. When I lowered the car back onto the wheels it barely squatted. I'd say about an inch of lift. Although I went from lowering springs to the xd springs so I can't give an exact amount of lift.

I can't help but think that would ride quite rough..

Yeah, 4 runners weigh a shit ton more than a yaris. Spring rate must be 4X or more. It would be like having no springs at all.

Yeah very fair points. I guess maybe a cruise to the junkyard with a tape measure or calipers might be in order to find some similar OD ones.

Definitely stoked to see some pictures of your Yaris Myfirstyota once you get all your fab work done and installed!!

Yay, good luck. I also hope to get my whole lift in. I have to start with the rears and check fitment of the unbranded lifts I bought off amazon. May need to mod those, if they need modding, it won't get done, if they fit. I'll have her all lifted this weekend. I only have about a 2-3 hour window of time and being my DD I need to get it all done in that time or wait.
