Just spoke to the dealer, they are ordering a few parts. Asked the manager if this would be covered by the warranty, said he couldn't tell me just yet. said that they would have to pull the transmission to find out for sure. This is really frustrating, doesn't the powertrain warranty cover the motor and tranny? Last time i checked i was pretty sure it did. Why not give me a straight answer? What else is there to find out? There is a grind in 3rd gear short and simple.

Who knows.

You know, I bought my car used, but "certified" which is supposed to mean that I have a bumper to bumper warranty identical to the factory warranty for 3 months post purchase. I wanted them to check something (I think my clutch is really stiff in the morning, then it gets better as you drive it), so I thought, hey the car is under warranty, let's go ask them if it's a big deal or maybe just the way that car is. Well, they said they might have to charge me $160 just to look at the car to find out what's going on and whether or not whatever is going on is under warranty or not. When I complained about that rip-off charge to "look at the car" they told me and I quote "that's why people buy new cars, you got a 2007, so.... which is I mean cars don't start falling apart when they're a couple of years old!! or do they?!!! I don't think the stiffness of the clutch is that big of a deal, so I'm not too worried, but I didn't expect to be jerked around like that

Now I know why people are complaining about the service they get at the dealership on Yelp.com

I'll wait for his call, he said he would give me a call back this afternoon. I'll ask him then how much longer they expect to have my car. I really wont' need a loaner... i just realized have a friend that is going out of town said she would let me borrow her car from tonight until saturday, and then i leave town on sunday. so i should be ok it just sucked having to bus it the past few days

Good to know... I just left the car at the dealer a few minutes ago for this same purpose.

Yeah I hope so... The Toyota rep was already giving me sh!t about having an aftermarket clutch, and how it would probably affect the warranty. Even after the mechanic already told him that it had nothing to do with the clutch.

Awwwww man. The rep is trying to make some money off of you, hopefully the tech tells him that it didn't affect tranny
