New yaris owner...
Hi all, just a quick introduction as I' ve been reading up a little about the yaris lately since I just purchased one. I wanted a 5 door YRS in white. Dealer didnt have stock so its on order and we are expecting delivery on 7th March :)
I really love the car. The dash was my biggest concern but as soon as you turn it on you fall in love with it. I've had my fun with turbo/performance cars already and I certainly didn't purchase the yaris for that. But knowing me I would still consider suspension mods. Does anyone know if things like swaybars would void warranty. I know TRD make one? I live in Melb S.E Suburbs so if there are any friendly meets happening keep us posted and I will do my best to attend GrayFox. |

Congrats on your yaris,
In australia, i know that ultraracing is the most "Bang for buck" bars you can get, and when you putting bars on you are really "ADDING" not "CHANGING" so i don't think it will void any warranty. because you are improving the safety of the car. Suspension, i recommend TRD suspension set "Shock + springs" it wont void any warranty if its installed with a certificated professional i think. but change the wheels as soon as you get it. lol its just ugly MY |

TRD Japan goods mean nothing to TRD Australia here (or Toyota Australia for that matter). I've previously read that TRD/Toyota Australia has nothing to do with TRD Japan, hence any parts installed will void the warranty for that particular area only. BUT ONLY if they can prove that it was that particular part that caused a fault.
Hub caps + steelies FTW! LOL.

i know that too.. .I spoke to a guy at castle hills toyota and he said things from japan are the ones they import but then y0ou have to get it installed from them or else it voids the warranty....
at the end of the day, if you use something and you take is for repairs, you can always put the stock parts on and then claim the warranty... just as an example, I asked how much is a trd quick shifter and he said the part will be 550 and later on pay extra for the fitment (something like 59 dollars).... that is effin bullocks... you can buy them for 150 US dollars and install it yourself. |

I agree totally. Love it here. He just asked if there was a local and I pointed him to it. After visiting it I think he'll be back here pretty quick. ozecho.com.au is a good forum, but nowhere near the members or wealth of information we have here.

Picking this up on Tuesday, can't wait now.
Btw any of you using iPhone or iTouch in your yaris? If so where and how did you mount it? |

I use my ipod touch with the yaris...
Usually I just place it in one of the can holders on the dash and connect a AUX input cable. I am planning on setting up a permanent dock by drilling a hole.... but the aux cable needs to be routed from inside the dash... Havent gotten my head around that part |
