Mobil 1

Just changed from toyota to mobil 1, the difference when its cold is dramatic! Much smoother idle right from the start.

Once warmed up, it seems happier at higher RPM's, and smoother idle.

Can't wait to swap to amsoil :)

Why amsoil and why are you having to wait?? Also, how many miles on your Yaris?

Ya know I've been changing my own oil for years now, but to avoid any hassle with my warranty down the road I've decided to take my Yaris in to a dealer for oil changes so it is on record that I have proof a "pro" has done all the required scheduled oil changes. 25 bucks, and they wash it! In and out in like 20 min. from what I hear. Got my first oil change scheduled this Monday.

One thing I dont ever plan on doing is letting the dealer wash my car again. I can only imagine the wash materials they use. I can see the bucket and sponge sitting in the dirty corner now....I better stop thinking about it.

I'm thinking about this also, at least for the first one. I don't know if they'll wash it but I want them to have the first look at the oil from break-in, assuming they know what they're looking at.

Just read a 2 year long study of amsoil vs mobil 1. IMHO I would say there isnt much gain if any in using Amsoil. Due to the availability of Mobil 1 and independant testing results, if you change your oil at 10k or less you will be fine with either. The way I see it I def wouldnt trust the 25k\1 year advertised by Amsoil. I will be using Mobil 1 when I switch.

I've been using Royal Purple for a few years and I love it. The higher quality synthetics are all very good. Can't go wrong with either of them.
