I just stated that this site is a general consensus of what people buy throughout the united states and elsewhere as there are all ages, races and people from different countries on this site, if you don't think that is a good general representation then I don't know what to tell you. There is a whole range of age differences that buy both cars to say that young people tend to buy the LB is just a plain stupid comment. There are a lot of middle age and older people here that also have the LB, as well as there are young and older people who have the sedan.

You are right though obviously we will never agree so as you stated lets just agree to disagree.

But....if there are 100 16-20 yr olds on here and only 20 30-70 yr olds on here that is not a good representation. Economy cars like the Yaris are usually purchased by the younger population. High School kids and college aged kids don't have a lot of money so they buy the Yaris or their parents buy it for them. The younger population is the ones that are more likely going to customize their cars so therefore it makes sense that parts companies gear their sales towards the LB.

In order for this poll to be correct, it must be broken down into age groups. If 100 people vote, and only 10 of them are older people, then your results are going to be off.

Actually several references to the glove boxes make a lot of sense to my point. You say, " btw, pretty sure nobody in the history of auto buying has ever made a vehicle purchase based on the number of glove boxes a car has." Read the first two pages! It sounds like they have. But I guess I'm too old if I read it wrong

Whoa! A mod that speaks before he acts. I applaud you Thomas for having enough respect to make a post telling me i've gone too far. Unlike another moderator who just deletes posts as they see fit.

I won't name names but if you'e read the whole thread you know who i'm talking about. Once again, Thanks Thomas and I will heed your warning.

Wow, big surprise, everyone has a different opinion on the hatch vs sedan (yeah, I know in Toyota lingo it is a "liftback;" but in normal automotive terminology it is a hatchback).

I've driven both, a sedan as a rental car and now I won a hatchback. They are both nice cars but obviously different. I got a hatchback as we have a Honda Odyssey and a Jeep Wrangler, so I didn't need something to haul the family or large items around. I needed a small commuter car that was fun to drive and got good gas mileage (to offset the 15 MPG I get with the Jeep). I had a VW Passat wagon with the VR6 and 5-speed that was really a driver's car, and I do miss the fun of driving it; but it was time for it to go.

I think the debate between the hatchback and sedan is ridiculous, it's comparing apples and oranges. Both are great cars that fit different needs, and either can be mod'd to look and drive really cool!

Cheers! M2

I just made this thread to see the amount of sedan vs lb users, not for bashing each others cars

Lets keep it clean and to the point, both are great cars and have advantages/disadvantages depending on the owner.

I have the stock sedan handles better than the LB. Even with a rear sway the sedan still handles better.

If I get tired of waiting for the Scion iQ I might spring for a sedan. The extra room means a lot to occasional passengers.

I think the numbers speak for themselves.

Camell, you have good points but I agree with Hickman's assumptions.
