"basic" Yarii?

To the peeps who got a Yaris,

Is there really a basic Yaris? [the one with 14's] and how much is the cheapest Yaris here at the forums?

I'm building an Auto-X'er so I need it cheap : )

You can get a base model from the dealership without radio and such but you'll probably have to special order it.

I saw a base sedan, the day I bought mine, but at a different dealer, they quoted me 12,200to start via the net, Seen base hatch advertised for 10,999,but they didn't list the color,so they are out there. Reno toyota has alot of base models i noticed, that is pretty far north though lol.

My dealer has 3 in stock without radio for 10,700.

They have white, blue and red, my problem is I don't know which one is less prone to scratching/swirlies... can I please get tips on which color to get?

thanks. BTW: does anyone here have a cheaper Yarii?

White will definitely hide swirls and such better.

Too bad you can't get one w/o AC... that might save you a step in building for auto-x.

that's just about right for a basic yaris. Mine was 11 sumtin, incl small extras.. ie cargo net, bumper prot. floor mats, safety kit... and those just came wid the car.. so yup! u found the best deal imo.

Dealer here said radio is not optional, there it is, like it :-(

We bought ours no a/c (white cars are inherently cooler), no auto (slightly better fuel economy, lends itself to my driving style), no packages (why would I need a spoiler on a front-wheel drive car??), basic, basic, basic. There is a bunch of junk available on their accessory list, an there is nothing there I want, never mind need.

If it handles fine, and I have to reintroduce myself to the fuel dealer when I drop in, I am indeed a happy Yaris owner.
