"Restyled"... How???
I waited with bated breath for the "redesigned" 2009 Yaris and, now that it's here, for the life of me I can't see any difference between this and the 2008.
Can anyone else??? |

Yes. Different headlights, grille, taillights I think are different, new kit on the S model...

other than the spoiler and the lips of the sport version, nope. There is also the a very slight difference in the tailights and a small curvature on the headlights. But again, nothing big.

There are also little "bumperette" things at each corner rather than being smooth.

Front and rear bumpers, headlights, taillights, hubcaps, seat fabric, dash lighting color, engine immobilizer standard, six airbags standard, vents, and HVAC control knob knurling and color. Oh yeah; an option for two more doors, one renamed color and a couple of new colors... Maybe the sheetmetal, engine, and suspension guys were on strike during the grand redesign... |

At any rate, although I can't identify exactly why, the '08 just looks cuter and maybe more "cartoonish"; the '09 is maybe a little "sportier" looking??? |

Aside from the differences Scott mentioned, there are absolutely no other differences. The car is structurally 100% the same, just those few minor design changes.
Same wheelbase, width, height, glass, etc. etc. You're looking at it too hard.

The rear of the '09 is a lot better looking, IMO. The taillights swoop in and flow better.
