Engine removal

I have an 07 yaris. Is it easier to pull the engine out of the top or bottom? I cannot find any information on this. (Cracked block) Thanks in advance

I think it is a matter of personal preference. I prefer top as bottom requires removing the subframe and its bolts can be tough to remove if the car has seen salt.

I prefer removing from the front. disassmble the front and you have easy access.

Up was really easy for me I removed d cowl and the intake and exhaust manifolds. Front seems easy too just need to have the ac redone after.
