Rear Defroster Issue

I have a 2008 Yaris sedan. I noticed this week that the rear defroster is not working. The light comes on when you push it in and I can hear a relay click under the dash as if everything is working but it isn't heating. The fuse under the dash is good. Though there isn't one under the hood labeled for it, I confirmed there are none blown there either.

Based on a recommendation on another post, I check the voltage across the terminals on the back glass. I get nothing. I wanted to try to take off the trim panel, but I figured I would ask if there is a trick to it before I break something.

Any suggestions? Comments?

might have a break in the circuit somewhere on the glass itself. never tried on a yaris, but on fords we have some goop (like nail polish) that you can paint on to fix the break.

Just in case, maybe try swapping the fuse with a different one? SOMETIMES, it works. Fingers crossed it's that simple. Otherwise, I'd say start tracing the wires. Maybe find that relay and confirm there is power coming out of it?

did you check the obvious - is the window grid plugged in? had that on a brand new chevy once, the connector was just hanging there.

the window lines are easy to damage, but it's also easy to test and repair.
