Trouble Identifying Sensor
Hey guys, can someone tell me what this sensor is? It broke off while tensioning the serpentine belt. It is throwing a check engine light and I am nervous to drive it until identify what it is.
Thanks for your help! |

That is the Oil control valve for the VVTI. You do have to be very careful to not pry against it when tensioning the belt. Toyota part number is: 15330-21011. OEM ones are about $90 and aftermarket ones about $60. If you are interested I have a low mileage OEM one that I could do $50 shipped for.

Looks like your Oil Control Valve (2 wires right?). It controls your cam timing. Should be OK to drive the car for a little bit while you get it fixed, but you will want to get it sorted soon.
Cheers. |

CTScott, I may take you up on your offer. However, I was hoping to get it fixed today. I don't drive much other than a few miles around town, is it something that would be okay for a few days until I could get the part? I can't seem to find the part in local stores.

CTScott, I'd appreciate if I can purchase it from you, I could hardly find anything out there under 80.00. So you've got a deal if you want to PM details.
