October Yaris Sales

So in finally getting to my monthly subcompact sales tracking, it looks like the Yaris had a gain of 160.1% in sales versus October, 2010. I'm sure this has a lot to do with the '12 models hitting dealerships.

Yaris sales overall for 2011 ares till down 34.5% compared to 2010. You want to see a real shocker, in October, 2008, they sold 93,366 Yarii. That's 313% more sales in October 2008 vs. October 2011. Note my oh-so-helpful chart.

No surprise there. 2008 passed $4/gal for the first time. Everyone scrambled for a small car. It would've sold a lot more but all the lots were empty. I remember because that's when I shopped for mine and had to buy the only used one with no new models available.

This is a shame. Hopefully the Mk3 will sell more based on it's facelift

The tsunami affected production this year. Yarii are built in Japan. We saw videos of Yarii washed out into the ocean.

Is that chart for US only or the world total?

If that chart is right, I feel like I got really ripped off by the dealer. I didn't get the big discount for poor selling model.

Hyundai is kicking some serious ass. Lots of other attractive new choices too.

Ya with the sleeker better looking and more fuel efficient models
like Hyundai the yaris is starting to look pretty outdated even 2012 models
not much change there same engine specs , the new 5 door Accent hatch very
nice I think it even will give the Honda Fit a good run for its money.

But overall I am happy with my yaris I have no interest in trading in
will keep mine for long time, all this newer hightech I bet is not as
reliable as the good old Yaris not yet anyways

Plus, if you buy a Hyundai... then you'll be driving a Hyundai.

FYI, the chart is for U.S. Yaris sales only.

Obama still thinks he can spend our way out of the recession and people think a Hyundai is a good car to buy.

Whats the world coming to?

The difference is that Keynesian economics and socialism will never work, especially long term, but car companies are indeed able to change.

Some examples would include Toyota and Honda themselves, the benchmark of quality for nearly 30 years. The years before that weren't as bright. In fact, they were quite lousy. Or how about Mercedes? They were built like tanks for decades, then became some of the worst built cars during the '90s. Now, they have made a significant comeback. Point is, things change. Hyundai is enjoying there renaissance. There not at the quality levels of Toyota yet, but they aren't nearly as far back as they were. Hyundai is a very good buy.

The local big Toyota dealers in my area all advertise on TV, they mention sales on Corolla, Camry, and RAV4, including Tundra and Tacoma. Yet they never mention Yaris'.
I know for a fact of advertising if you just mention the product, hence (Yaris) it will be looked as product for sale. So at least here in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas...........no love for the Yaris.

Here at Georgia, at least around my area, peoples can driveout a toyota dealership with a brand new corolla for a same price as a Yaris, i seen new corolla basic for $14000 dollars, i will probably pick the Corolla too over a yaris for that price.
