My car doesn't smell rancid, but since the new car smell has worn off it does smell a little stale. Does anyone have any favorite car freshener scents they would like to share?

Leave the car closed overnight, in the morning is when it smells no AC. I thought some people were experiencing the same thing, I may have read it in Thread somewhere.

Well the only 2 smells the yaris is known to make are the catalytic converter and the a/c condensate line, but both of those usually require the car and/or a/c to be on.

I would guess that yes a small animal found its way in and died somewhere, or one of your friends puked in the back and didn't tell you.

Most of the paneling is easy to pull off and put back on. I'd start with the spare tire area and work your way forward. The dash is the only thing that is hard to pull off, but you should be able to see if there is something in there without pulling the whole dash out.

Here's the 07 repair manual, there's no 5 door but a lot should be the same as the 3 door, or close.

Here is a compilation of DIY articles put together by users. Between them you should be able to find how to get all the paneling off and on

If that's too much or you did that and didn't find anything, you can try getting your car steam cleaned(or renting a cleaner), and also leaving boxes of baking soda in the car overnight(or sprinkled on the carpet and seats and vacuumed up).

Here is the thread that has the TSB on it, my car has the same odor and have yet to take it in. My VIN falls under the above TSB.

I commute with my 09 Yaris - it's3 months old and gets smelly during my commute (and cuz of kidz)

I vaccuum all carpets upholstery thoroughly - spray some febreeze in the car overnight - make sure all windows are closed - I do this each night untill the smell goes away (Usually takes a day or 2)

My Yaris gets a bit stinky when it gets hot out. I did, however, just have the condenser replaced.

Its prob your ac, took my 08 liftback to the dealer for the same issue and installed a new evaporator, new drain tube and cabin filter...presto smell be gone , of course this was under warranty otherwise you are looking at about a $800-$1000 hit at the stealership!

Or install the Clazzio leather seats. That leather smell will overcome almost any smell except the smell of fresh fart rising out of your pants.
