Question about turbos

What would be the best, most reliable, turbo for our cars with money being a non-factor? (Lets not get too crazy lol).

I realize size is a concern. And the engines internals past 200hp.

I am only looking for 170-190whp.

So, if you had a choice, would it be the Garret GT25R? GT28? Any better turbos than Garret, or are they the gold-standard?

Discuss....

GT2554R would be the best, hands down. I'm sure Garm will back me up on this.

For your goal, and especially if the car is a daily driver, you want spooling as quick as possible. I was originally planning on ditching the Zage turbo for a GT2554 later on, but I'm pretty content with their turbo. It spools by 2300 RPM and is fully spooled (7.25 PSI) by 3300 RPM. Makes the car stupidly fun to drive

+1 GT28 doesn't spool until 3500 on my car. it's the price of more power.

Can I use one of those Amsoil EA NANO filter on the turbo (it came with my Injen CAI)?

How do filters work? Just find the best one for clearance?

Tial/Garrett (Turbo) or just Garrett hands down the best. Yes the first of the two being the most costly but dollar for dollar these are the "Gold standard"
for what your trying to do the 25 series rather than the 28 series would be best. The new GTX 28 series will spool up 10% faster do to new billet compressor wheel design but still not worth what your trying to do. Keep it simple, (under 200 hp) especially on stock internals. That small motor was never designed to handle over a 100 hp. Yes people will say you will be ok on stock internals and that will be true for a while but on a daily driver and constant boost you shorten the life of those rods and pistons by half. Be conservitive with your build untill you can make your bottom end more reliable.
I'm running the new GTX28 Series because I have a wild ass cam set-up underway a 70mm T/B and standalone engine management as well as running race fuel. I'm trying to push as much air as possible. You just need the 25 series and use the KISS method.

Here is a side by side of stock rod and piston VS. Crower rod and Arias Piston
