Only another projector retrofit...

Going for it myself this time. After all the hoo-hah I had on the last one I'm going to retro some D2S in my stock housings to get some of the pleasure myself.

Step 1: Break open the stock headlights
Step 2: Curse ENDLESSLY at permaseal
Step 3: Sulk
Step 4: Succeed

Lights are open and ready to get some Morimoto! D2S are on the way. Gone simple with the round lens and Bullet shrouds. I will have to do some cutting so that my OEM sidelight will be visible behind the projector. Toying with the idea of switchback DRLs in the headlights too. I have some Morimoto strips which are just sitting there.

I may have some Morimoto RHD D2S 4.0 projectors up for sale once these are seated and running.

As always, pictures are on the way as soon as I get all the bits through the post and I can get underway. Until then here's an open headlight...

Are you just putting in projectors or are you painting the bezel as well?

Painting it all black too :) leaving the turn signals chrome though. That's one thing I should have done different on the first one, I've lost so much light when I use the indicators.

Primed and ready for sanding and painting! Still waiting on the projectors but they should be here tomorrow. It's not like I'm waiting by the window or anything...

Any tips on testing the projectors for rotation? I'm using the bulbs and kit that's already in my car so aside from taking out all the ballasts to test, any tips on how to fire up the lights while I'm at my workshop for rotation? What sort of battery or power supply might I need?

Final update of the day. Epoxy is all done and setting overnight. I'll align them tomorrow and get some cut off photos and all that good stuff. Here's it all assembled minus the lens.
