Probably a dumb question - Flat spots

Okay,

I hit a deer in November, and had my aftermarket wheels on the car.

Since I slammed on the brakes, it created flat spots on the tires and it was 'galloping'. I put the stock wheels and tires on the car.

My question:

Is there any way to drive flat spots out?

Or are the tires basically done for?

Not normally an on-road application but you could have the tires shaved. This is common practice for road racers who must use street spec. tires for their class. If your tires only have mild flat-spotting and lots of tread left otherwise a high-performance tire shop could help you, or perhaps send you to a shop that could.

Now if only it was AWD I could do it faster.

Before I took them off, I was doing burnouts. Plenty of them. I'll probably still try this after winter because the tires have a lot of life left, and I don't have the cash for new tires.

I would ask if someone could shave them. My girlfriend chalked her brakes up and replaced hers but it made me mad cause she really didnt want to spend the money and they acted like her car would never drive the same.

Do you know how much that usually costs? And can any tire shop do it?
