Pentax K100D DSLR, my story

any Pentax user in here?
just a few pics to let's you guys see that pentax dslr is not a bad DSLR like what's most peoples said.
2 years ago, i was introduced to dslr by one of my customer. He told me to buy a Canon 350D, but my budget was very little, and i found out about dpreview.com and after spending months of reading and comparing and focusing on my habit of what i plan to use my dslr for? Sport, portrait, landscape....and money of lenses for future.
I ended up got a brand new K100D for $300 buck after rebate that it's come with Kit len 18-55mm.
The Pentax lenses are cheap, and excellent. And it's can do very good at Portrait.
My dream camera is Fujifilm S5 Pro and Sigma SD14. I love to get my hand on both cameras.
I lied to my gf that's i don't have any dslr yet, so i wanted one for this xmas, and she is thinking about getting me either a canon or nikon i know i'm bad, but there is nothing else i want for xmas. sh.....
Here is my Pentax K100D 6mp with a cheap $25 dollars SMC 50mm/1.7 len
Took in RAW, basic adjust with lightroom.

Great shots. They will do more justice with a better lens.

Wow.

I shoot with a Canon.

I really like the picture with the boat and the people. Have you experimented with f stops when you do close-ups? I like to have a tiny f stop on certain pictures of the outdoors but the one with the boat is really great!!

I have canon lenses and they are okay but IMO nikon lenses do a better job.

Plan on getting this after a few x-mas paychecks:

http://www.henrys.com/webapp/wcs/sto...&itemID=240759

(For those too lazy to click link - - it's a Nikon D300 with an 18-200 VR Nikon lense. Not too sure what I want as a flash unit yet, however.)

And that last one seems a bit fuzzy and out of focus. Give'er another go?

Thanks PK, i once had Olympus E500 like you too, great Kodak sensor, but i need the money so i listed on ebay, if i have some money one day, i would love to get the dslr back.

most of my outdoor pictures i set it from F11-F16 depend on the weather. Indoor always F1.7 to F2.8 but i like F1.7 better.
I use F1.7 - 2.8 outdoor on closeup for peoples with shutter speed around 500-1000, and F4 on flowers.
ISO i let's it AUTO 200-800.

Great pics Jamal. You made a nice choice for your camera. I recently purchased an Olympus E-520 and I'm having a great time with it. Your close ups look spectacular !! Happy snapping.....
