When I drove the '11, I was thrown off initially because of the center gauges; but as time passed and I got more used to it, I didn't mind the set up at all.

The thing that was so weird for me was that I felt like I was sitting "above" the car because the lack of left guages naturally made the dash in front of the driver so low. Of course, i've been driving a '98 Buick LeSabre for the last 5 years, so driving anything but a tank feels odd.

But even though is different from what i'm used to, I have fallen in love with the Yaris 5-door LB.

As far as the '12 goes, I am overjoyed that it isn't a bubble anymore. I approve.

yes. every female i ever met had the same reaction to my black yaris hatch: "aw, thats so cute!"

the new one has less of the "cute" factor. i dont think that is a bad thing.

i personally do not mind the 2012, will i trade in mine for it? prob not, i love mine.

the only part i am not impressed with is how long it is (or how long it looks), a huge part of getting my yaris is the fact that it will fit in my garage with a set of stairs and my snowblower and powerwasher behind it. with a longer car i would need to find another place for this stuff.... and the fact i can parallel park my car in the garage, close the door and wash my car by hand in mid winter is also something i love and cannot do on my moms camry....

The yaris is no longer a tiny car :(

The new one is exactly 10cm (3,9'') longer than the current one. When it comes to the length of a car, I don't think that 3,9'' makes that much of a difference.

I don't think the difference is too much. But I like small cars too. Of course definition of a "small" car is a Civic or Corolla when in reality they are near mid-size size. America, so sad.

A standard garage will easily fit a full size car. Seems like you need a new garage.

i have alot of junk behind my car plus a set of stairs. a longer car will need a new place to store my snowblower and junk. my moms camry parks next to my yaris and fits great with a tool box infront of it.

The sedan will certainly live on. It sells just as well as the LB even worldwide. Actually, I see a lot more sedans than LB's.

Maybe its what you are actually looking for, but I have seen more LBs than sedans.

Here's the European model which may more closely resemble what America gets. Looks good!

That Euro's front looks 10x better. Hope Australia gets that one as well.
