Rear Seat Delete, help?
Looking to remove the Rear 60/40 bench, but don't want a hole in the back leading to my generally-messy trunk. Anyone know of a vendor making a rear seat delete plate? Maybe locakble pass-through?
I never carry passengers, and Although it's pretty minimal I'd like to lose the weight of the rear bench without looking like complete crap. I have a buddy that could fabricate if absolutely needed, but I'd like to find just a pre-fab and add carpet and or paint. ::Help::? ThnX Guys, JustLikeSuki |

Don't know of any pre-fab, but if you remove the seat and the seat belts along with it, I would say it's more than just a minimal weight loss. Get something fabricated, but remember if you're doing it to drop some pounds that you don't want anything too intricate fabricated or you'll be defeating the purpose.

There is a Toyota conversion, we've been trying to get some in stock.
It's a 100 pound savings with the 60/40 rear seat delete, you will feel that in the car's performance. It doesn't look too bad back there without it (mine has carpet throughout).

Fabricated would be Aluminum, so not much weight gain there. I'd love to be updated when you get the Toyota delete. Probably going to fab the Aluminum and paint it white ( Lke the car ) So I can lock the TRunk completely but keep the Passthrough ability,

fyi you won't want it White, the glare will impede your rear view vision (i painted my floor flat black to counteract the glare.)

You think the glare will effect it just being a pass-through? I might go with carpet, but I wanted to get Blue carpet, because I'm looking to do Door cards in blue Alcantara Suede to Accent Seats... I dunno, I'll prolly experiment a lot before I get it right... Thanks for the advice... And :
I'll put them up in Classified as soon as I'm done :-D |

The funny thing is that I used to live in Laurel, right behind the mall in the Avondale apartments (the sand-colored highrise). My favorite BBQ joint--Red, Hot and Blue--is in Laurel. Cheers! M2 |
