Upgraded 1NZ injectors

I posted this question in my own thread in the boosted section but didn't get any responses. So I thought I'd repost it here...

Anyone know the actual specs on the 1ZZFE injectors? I've heard an array of answers on the CC range.

Looking at these - both listed for the Toyota 1.8

23250-22040

vs

23250-0D050

Anyone know the difference? What are most people using when they are attempting to upgrade their current 1NZ injectors?

Not sure of the actual reason for different part numbers. Possibly spray pattern or internal resistance? Maybe just color coded to keep them separate on the production line?

someone did a review & comparison:
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...Injectors_for_

I've also switched my orange injector to the jap blue ones. I did notice they were a bit smoother on idle and better fuel consumption during highway travel

Interesting.. Thx! Wonder if it really is just the spray pattern or the +5cc difference ? The green ones have more YW user reviews but this blue review intrigues me.

oh yeah my orange injector has the same nozzle pattern as the blue ones. Possibly the cc are about the same too. My mechanic did mentioned that the cycle duty are probably different.

I needed this info too. Thanks for the info everyone. I'll make sure to look for the blue injectors then.

Are the 1.8L injectors intended to be used in the Yaris 1.5L 1NZ engine ?

Very nice info! Not sure how I missed this initially in either section. I'll be upgrading now that I have a path for a turbo on my 1NR-FE.

Intended... no. But for boosted 1NZ applications and other performance modifications, the 1ZZ injectors have shown to help performance.

I upgraded to the green 1ZZ injectors to keep from going lean with my Blitz supercharger. If you have a proper engine management system, you can just tune the fuel map to compensate. The Blitz comes with a really basic piggyback that just makes the ECU go into open loop mode, which just dumps a ton of fuel to ensure it's not running lean. Bigger injectors = more fuel = lower AFR under boost. Not terribly elegant, but safer than running lean and breaking things.

Just as a reminder, what's the 1NZ injectors rated at for CCs so I can make the adjustment in the FIC?

I don't have exact.. but I've read 200-210cc. It's the same part number for the 1NZFXE as it is for the 1NZFE

an interesting page I found regarding the flow rate and injector response time for the 1NZ injectors. Unfortunately they don't have the 1ZZ injectors listed.

I can't remember what I have my response time set to but I'm going to change it to about 500us. My idle seems seems to be very rich as my fuel trims are always very far into the negative area and it crank on cold starts longer than it should.

I'll report.back when I get around to it.

I don't know why but I had it set to 850us. That would explain the long cranking and poor throttle response when hot. Moved it to 526us. I'll have to check my fuel trims now. Did it just before rushing out to work.
