24 years of age, AAA forces you to get your own car insurance policy?

So last year I was told by a AAA insurance agent that when you turn 24 years old, you can no longer stay on your parents policy and have to get your own. Well I turned 24 last October and my parents policy gets renewed this May. So will I automatically get booted off their policy? Anybody have to deal with this or know something about how it works?

My girlfriend is 24 and has been able to stay on her mom's policy for the past couple of years because my girlfriend has her mom listed on the title of her car. I think they have Allstate. I wonder if I can do this with AAA and put my mom or dad on the title of my Yaris so I can stay on their policy.

Anybody have a clue?

This is not new; I was on my parents' policy (State Farm) and was booted off at 23 or 24 waaaaay back when. This seems to be normal practice for car and medical insurance. Normally, you're booted off at 18, I believe, unless you are attending college full time. If you're attending college, it is extended to 23 or 24. My guess is Allstate just hasn't been paying attention in your GF's case.

your insurance rate drops a huge amount when you turn 25.

That's funny, mines went up when I hit 25 with infinity. I have a spotless record so I asked them what's going on, they had no response so I cancelled my policy and went elsewhere. I'm under my dads insurance and I turned 26, and have had no issues
