What's the chance the '08 LB will be available with a tach and cruise?
If it is, I'll be the first to order one!

With the release of the Scion, there's probably no reason to beef-up Yaris sales in US.
I'm surprised that no one on the group has setup a pipe-line to import used 5dr liftbacks from Canada to the US. I wonder if it'll be worth the effort, especially when considering the inflated Canadian dollar. |

It wouldn't take much to add cruise to the LB from the factory. They could use existing parts from the sedan to do it.

cruise is currently avaliable, it's dealer installed
the Yaris is only 1 year into the us market, it'll most likely remain unchanged for '08 |

Here in Toronto, the Yaris is very common, but I hear they're a bit of a rarity down south. In which case, I'd be nervous to have the dealership monkey around with the electronics. |

[QUOTE=Pars;95923]Yep, my dealership wants $500 to put in cruise control into my 5 dr liftback. I believe, it's not possible unless the Yaris is already equipped with the power package.QUOTE]
dunno about the pwr package observation, here in the US I test drove and almost bought a LB with only cruise (speed control), arm rest, and conv pkg. The cruise stickers for $349, if a stealership will honor that I might have it retrofitted. |

It's so odd, but I did hear rumours about LBs with cruise only in the southeast. It makes absolutely no sense, but what can you do.

they wouldn't change the engine until the next generation, would they? unless it was a "sport" model. the basic yaris will sport the same engine for its 5 year run, right?

I think it's more likely the LB will get a tach and cruise for '08 than it is we'll see a different engine before the next generation. They've already got the parts to add cruise and a tach. It's just a matter of assembling them in the LB.

In Canada you can get cruise control on the Yaris Hatchback.

I wish it had a tach, it seems like with these motors they dont like to put tachs on for some reason? Some examples-Scion xB, Toyota Echo, Yaris LB but the darn 4dr has a tach, makes no sense to me?
