Thumbs up 100,000 miles and counting

My 2008 LB is fixing to roll over its first 100,000 miles. No big issues with the car so far as I use it for my long distance work commute of 180 miles/day. Some minor items are the drivers side door glass has mysteriously chipped on the top edge in one spot and the stereo is picky about CD’s. Also the cheap wheel covers are so bad about cracking when you take them off I just took them off permenantly to give my tire store a break (they already bought one). I have put the car thru a rigourous test as 8 miles of my commute are on a tortuous steep gravel road. I have bottomed the car out a few times on rock and although I made a slight modifcation to the cross member it still lives. I really need a skidplate for my road! My pick on tires are the Yokohama’s as I have almost 50,000 miles on these now and a decent amount of tread is still left even with gravel road driving. These tires stick to the road good in all weather and since the Yar is so light this makes a difference in deep water as the car can hydroplane due to its lite weight. I do my own maintenance which has been fairly easy (oil changes, front brake pads, etc.). Overall very satisfied with the car.

Congrats ! I'm at 97,000 miles in my 07 .

Now lets talk about the real issue that is that steep tortuous gravel road . Mainly is it worth me driving to NC to film Yari slingin dirt ?

Glad to see someone else with a longer commute than me! I won't complain about my 120 miles per day anymore! 56,000+ on my 09' since December of 08'.

i can't believe you guys, driving 60-90 miles one way to work. Is it an east coast thing? I've got 53k, on my Dec 08. With my new job i'll start racking up mileage, but that's on the job, my commute to work right now is only 20 minutes.

This is great to hear. I'm only at 45K, but looking to keep it for the long haul.

Actually I live in Minnesota and if you have a job these days you're doing well. If you have a good job that pays well and you like it... you're doing even better! So I can deal with the commute (at least for now).
