Dealership wants $64.99 for Oil Change?

I just got my Yaris yesterday and I noticed in the scheduled maintenance brochure that the 5,000/10k/15k/20k/etc "maintenance" which is in all seriousness an oil change, was $64.99.

WHO ARE THESE GUYS KIDDING? As long as I hold onto my oil and oil filter receipts aren't I still in compliance with my warrant and extended warranty??

Our dealership gave us a keytag for our first oil change free, and after 4 paid ones (at 24.99 each) the 5th is free as well. I'd say, time for you to find a new dealership. And for the love of god, please don't take your car to one of those Quick Lube places, they will ruin your car.

The cabin air filter may be included in that high priced oil change/service.

But YES change it yourself and keep the receipts.

My dealer told me that my Platinum Plan / warranty is void if I don't take my Yaris in for the big scheduled ones like the 15k, 30k, etc. maintenance things.

I bought the maintenance package. The saleman made a convincing argument regarding the cost of maintenance vs the package and the extended warranty package. (I was planning on the extendend warranty. Toyota kicks ass in quality, but I prefer to be safe than sorry Y'know?)

WTF?? 64.99$!! It probably include something else other than oil change, cause an oil filter and 4L of mineral oil (Valvoline, Castrol, or other) cost under 15$!

I got all my oil changes for free (until 2010) on my Cavalier! It was a great dealer promotion when the car was bought new.

our dealer gives free oil changes for life as long as you get your service there (15K, 30K, etc.). the first 4 are free no matter what, they want you to change ever 3,750. i figure i'll pay for the first 15K service for $160, that'll get me 8 free oil changes, but i'm gonna stop at the 30K because they want $360 for that one, what a joke!
