man talk about expensive. Although I will say they are rather nice inside, just too big for me. I'd mistakenly drive over a car or two without realizing.

Not that expensive( about 50k loaded )well more than a Yaris lol but lots of GM offers plus 1% interest and definitely a lot bigger .
Still gone keep the Yaris for now probably sell it in the summer .

If my car was totaled tomorrow, and had to be replaced ASAP, I would be looking at the following as a potential replacement:

First Choice - 2017 Toyota Yaris SE (Probably in Blue Streak Metallic, Magnetic Gray or Classic Silver Metallic this time, just to change things up a bit)
Second Choice - 2017 Toyota Corolla iM (ONLY in black - to blend/hide what I hate about the front bumper/grill design)
Third Choices - Upper-trim model 2017 Mazda3, Mazda CX-3, or Subaru Impreza

automotive styling front ends grills tailfins chrome

another sign that front end styling has gotten so awful--Chevy offering five or so "special edition models" of its mainstay truck...each a different color with all the goofy trim painted body color. In some ways the industry is at about 1958...wonder if clean executions are in the pipeline. Who's got the Edsel now?

Such a fun little car.

Surprised not to see more comments from you regarding the test drives...

I really like the sheet metal design of the Ford Fiesta, and the ST must be fun! But, the car is crap!

Gt-86 as my summer road legal track/hobby car. Plan on supercharhing it and eventually doing an LS swap. Basically my long term hobby car to have the time to tinker with and race at the track for fun

Keeping my yaris as long as possible as my dd and eventually plan on passing it along to my son. It would be 24 years old by then but with a 2011 2zr in it

Keeping the Yaris as a DD. Been looking at a Forester or Outback for an adventure wagon. Waiting for what the 2018 Forester will be like, supposed to be a new model generation.

Not a fan of any German cars, but everything about Audi sheet metal design makes sense. And, unlike most brands, Audi can make massive grilles... and they look good.

Test drove the 2017 toyota 86

pic is of the left over FRS i drove the 86
thought it would be too small inside but at 6-1 185 i fit fine
sweet steering wheel paddle shifting 6 speed auto
like the minimalist interior styling
spectacular handling of course
shocked how slow it is off the line ... the i3 would destroy it
dont like the subaru sounding harley davidson exhaust note

not a big fan of the iM but all lined up they look kinda cool

For some reason, the Toyota FRS/86 looks like one of those mail-order kit-cars that you build yourself at home - especially from the rear.

The Toyota iM is unpalatable, except in black. It's the only way to stomach that front-end design.

I drove up to Oregon to sell my Metro, and I'll be driving whatever bargain-basement car Hertz puts me in tomorrow 1,300 miles back home. I'm looking forward to experiencing the latest in penny-pinching technology.
