P0010 OBDII scan code
Got a P0010 code after trying to tighten s-belt. I was able to remove the vvt solenoid easily and inspect it. YUP I broke the connector to the solenoid coil. I've been driving it for a couple of weeks this way and I don't notice any difference at all. I bought one off of ebay because its way too expensive from a dealer and I could not find it at any local auto parts store. I should get it in a couple of days. What exactly does this vvt do and am I hurting the engine any by driving it?

It alters lift timing and duration pretty much when you mash on the gas allows the valve to stay open slightly longer giving you more power but when your normal driving you get better fuel economy so best of both worlds. When the computer detects a issue it disables the system to prevent damage it should be okay to drive short term till you can get it corrected.
