Cheaper, but still decent quality speakers?

Can anyone recommend some cheaper, but still decent quality speakers to replace the stock ones?

I'll be running them off of my JVC receiver's internal amp. (no external amp. will be used) just like the stock speakers now.

I'd also prefer a set that has decent bass. I have a 10" sub. in the back and would like a little bass from the speakers too.

this is a relative question. Cheaper compared to what? Infinity's are always nice, and relatively inexpensive...

Under $100 would be great.

Infinity speakers always sounded kind of tinny and metallic to me and the ones I've tried lacked any mids or lows. Those were Kappas though.

it is very hard to get a good sound from a car speaker unless you can drown out the car noise and to do that at low cost hmm ebay 2nd hand parts ???

I know that. I just want some speakers that have more low end and mids than the stock speakers.

Ok. Model number?

Are you running them on a separate amplifier or directly from the head unit?

You can't make a recommendation unless you've tried it the way I've described I'll be running it.

you know how to mount them in the old speaker you just rip out the guts of the stock speaker and screw the new into the stock plastic

HIfonics components, they run around 50 bucks on amazon. I have a set of them in my install section.

25 watts is 25 watts, that's probably the most the Headunit will put out. The components can run on wattages between 2-100 watts.

Alpine Type S speakers are good for the money. $100 retail so online will be a bit less.

Thanks for the suggestion S7V7N.

The AVX77's manual says it does 20W x 4 channels. Should I find speakers that do only up to 20W RMS?

The only ones that i seen that were fairly decent were some Blaupunkts Rated at like 35 watts rms, for the price that is. I think the factory speakers are rated at like 10 watts rms. Dude i would just get what fits your taste and eventually save up for a nice 4 Channel amp, matter of fact you could probably get some speakers and an amp that does maybe 50 x 4 for around 120 bucks. Everybody has there own personal preference, Name brand or no name brand, Anything will sound better than them paper speakers that are in there now. I know how it is to be on a budget, Pioneer has some decent budget speakers as well as Sony. Check the Sunday paper, Best buy usually runs speaker specials.

Infinity refrence 6.5 components... can find them online for cheap... around $100 for a pair. Regardless of what you go with, make sure you buy a pair of components & spend more than $80 online, or $150 in store. Stay away from co-axials/tri-axial/quad-axials... you only need 1 tweet per speaker, having 5 doesn't help sound quality.... if anything it makes things worse, but it does look good for the marketing department, and allows a company to charge more.

there is one person on this forum that swears up and down the deck does something like 17x4 rms.... I'd bet its much closer to 10x4 (at any acceptable amount of distortion). Most aftermarket decks are lucky if they can put out 17x4.... I doubt an OEM will be as good, or better than the aftermarket decks... but maybe. Regardless, its best to just save $150 and buy a small 2 channel amp to power your front 2 speakers, and the wires/cables needed to install the amp. It'll sound louder, and you'll notice more bass.
