Its nothing much just a squeak in the shifter. Just go from the shifter to the transmission and find the squeak and put some grease on it.

Yeah I found the squeak in mine if u look slightly down and to the right of your engine you can see the cables moving and just figure out which one is squeaking. I just use a heavyweight gun oil>.> Redneck I know but it seems to have worked!

This sounds really similar to a problem I'm starting to experience as well. I just broke the 28,000 mile mark on my yaris. I notice there's squeaking in the lower gears 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, as WELL as in neutral when moving the stick just left and right. Do you guys think this is the same problem? I'd like to have something to tell my mechanic when I take it in other than that the car makes a sqeaky noise when shifting.

Clutch springs are just squeaking. I just picked up my Yaris literally two days ago. It's got 117 miles on the odometer. Mine started doing it, so I had my roomate look at it. (He's an ASE Certified master mechanic employed as a full time tech at the local Toyota dealership) That's what he came back with. No cause for concern.

Squeaking clutch pedal

After reading the squeaking transmission thread, I thought I'd post this up.

The clutch on my 2007 liftback squeaks when I depress it and let it out, too. Anyone else have this issue? Any quick fix?

Squeak at the pedal area or the hydraulic piston area near the transmission? I've never had that problem yet, but on some of my older cars I just used WD-40 for the pedal joints. Not a permanent fix, but does the job for a while.

I had the same problem, I removed the little rubber boot by the hydraulic piston of the clutch and sprayed some amount of sea foam deep creep and worked great it’s been about 5 months and the noise hasn’t come back.

Hey Lucas,

Would you be able to take a picture of what you're talking about in this post? It would be GREATLY appreciated; I'm sure not just by myself. Thanks in advance!

Hey nick.dollimount,

Here is the pic of what I did and took care of the noise, try to use a good lubricant; WD 40 will evaporate too quickly.

Let me know if this worked for you guys, good luck getting rid of the squeak
