2009 Front Bumper Conversion with foglight

I'm almost done with my 07 Yaris LB front conversion. Also install the aftermarket fog light with 09 OEM fog cover from the dealer.

You need to change the headlight also, because the 09 Bumper mounts onto the headlamp.

Also the 09 headlamp bottom tab does not fit properly onto the 07 radiator support so you have do a little mod, very easy.

Install the 08 aftermarket light kits, with the 09 toyota fog light cover.

So if you guys plan on doing this conversion, you have to buy bumper cover $230, two 09 headlamp $168 each, top and bottom grill $67 each, and tow hook cover $11, and 09 fog light cover cost $25 each. The 08 grill are different and will not fit on the 09 bumper. Bumper and tow hook cover does not come painted. Total is about $761 plus paint. I like the 09 look better and it was worth doing.

cool! First time anyone's done this AFAIK.

And if any '09 owners prefer the old bumpers, well I guess it's just as easy to swap back too

Honestly.... why bother? For different fog light holes and bumper guards? I would think its very difficult to match seams perfectly. It will look like a Frankenstein job, IMHO.

I don't mean to be negative. But, if you are up for the challenge, go for it! :)

Yeah, later on when I can get the part number for the 09 S body spoiler from toyota. The rear is a little different, but will fit the 07. Should be direct replacement without mod.

I dunno ... I still like the zenki version better. The new is just not my taste. But hey, it's your car right?

BTW what are yoyu doing with the old parts? You going to sell them or keep them as spares?

Great write up I'm surprised Toyota changed the headlights after only two years.

Agreed. Anything up to and including 08 is a much sleeker, rounder look. I don't like the edging of the 09's.

the model has been around since 2005. i don't think it's a big surprise for toyota to change the lights a little.

the 1st generation yaris (1999) got the face lift in 2003, and discontinued in 2004 (2005 in Canada). So, i would probably think they will redesign the model in 2 years (2011)

Sold, the old 07 parts that was on the car. The main reason I did this conversion was to install the 09 S body spoiler, I like that stock sport look. Any one found the part number for that yet, been searching long time.
