What did I do with my Sunday?

I installed a Fuba style antenna and debadged the rear of my Yaris. I love how clean it looks and I've been in love with the RC look for awhile. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend and Happy Memorial Day for those celebrating it.

It's funny how things change. I remember well in the early days of Gen2 when people desperately wanted to get rid of the R/C look and installed a stubby or shark fin.

My father used to drive Golf 2 only back in the day, until he bought a new Golf 5 in 2006. I think he had 3 or 4 different Golf 2.
So i basically grew up with that cool extendable metal antenna, still love it too this day.

^^^ I grew up with those. Coolest thing then was the electric antenna; you turned the radio on and the antenna would magically appear.

Thanks guys! Didn't the Golf start the Fuba antenna craze? I remember in 1992, my cousin had a Toyota Paseo and he paid to have a Fuba antenna installed. It was the thing to do. Also, my aunt had a midnight blue Supra and it had the retractable antenna, as a kid I remember being excited to watch it appear and disappear.

Curious what process you used to de-badge?

First I let my car sit out in the hot afternoon South Florida sun. Then, I used a hot soapy bucket of water to soak the badge. Then I tried to use dental floss to get behind the badge and made a sawing motion. I did that but eventually the floss broke. At this point I just started at the edge with my fingers and slowly pried the badge off slowly. My son wanted to keep it, so I was careful not to break it. It left a little spongy material on the paint so I used Goof Off on that. After I washed the car I waxed the area. As for moving the antenna I'm not sure how that works, sorry I can't help.
