new brake pads up front
I am about to do a front pad replace. Never have done one ever. Is there anything I need to know before I get into it??? I got new basic pads from Oreilly.... There is some shims in there too for whatever reason....

got it done...very easy... FYI sticky you dont need to loosen bottom bolt if your only changing pads.... the bottom bolt is a bolt/nut....not a screw bolt like on top. the bottom
is a pivot and only needs to come off if your replacing rotors...you will 2 wrenchs for that one. and loosen cap on brake fluid reservoir before you press piston back with C clamp. That way air can escape if there is any. OEM pads from Oreilly were 22 bucks. Last edited by yaris9876; 10-04-2011 at 09:38 PM. |

slowly push in the piston,the seal in the master cylinder can pull off its seal was what was told to me before I did mine....I dont know if this is comman but both my buddies who are mechanics both told me this when I asked if there was anything I should worry about.
