Yaris Hilton now what he is talking about.
I do have hands on experience with the AEM coils and they where not good. Garm's car went throw 5 coils,2 AEM CDI unit (with has been over a year and still have not gotten replacements) and a MSD DIS-4. Garm's car now is running M&W ignition CDI box and 4 Honda CBR coils and is bug free . Im sad to say I don't recommend AEM CDI or there coils to anybody any more. Hope this help..

400+ hp 25+ psi thats big power for the 1nz motor. 14 psi should not be a problem with OE coils. My low boost is 14psi and high is 20 and I'm on stock coils.

Scionscrew.... did you meant the CBR600 or the CBR900 coils?
Which of them is the better or is there any other better than these? CBR600 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CBR600-C...item3cae050de8 CBR900 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CBR-900-...item3a595a4a8a |

I think the CBR900 coils are better since they are used on a bigger 893cc engine compared to the CBR600 599cc engine.
That's just my opinion |

The same coils are used on almost all toyota's so that doesn't really say much for displacement and coils.

Displacement has nothing to do with it. Just the breakdown voltage in the spark plug gap. That increases with plug gap width and the density of the fuel air mixture in the gap. Standard coils have a lot of excess voltage for normal operating conditions.

You could simply make 4 small brackets out of alluminum to hold them in place.

just make some brackets.. call Garm he made some brackets for his car. you can see them here http://www.scionlife.com/forums/show...=186844&page=2

The CBR600 coils arrived today...
There seems to be an issue, I am not liking the fact that the plug is just touching the cbr coil tip unlike the yaris coil in which it goes into a fixed spring into the coil tip. Here are some pics.... To scioncrew... can you post some pics of garm coils to understand I have the right coils here.. Thanks |

here is the picture showing the brackets we made. The top of the bracket has a little threaded "bolt" with a rubber pad that holds down the coil. one 10mm bolts ties down each bracket.
However, the CBR coils are so solidly attached to the plug, it's hard to imagine them popping off the way the AEM ones did.

Can you take a picture more focused on coils?
BTW have you weigh the intake flange already? |
