Another nother nother foglight thread

Ugh. I hate to even start another for flight thread, but I need help guys. I just purchased an unmodified fog light kit from Garm. Basically I'm just really confused on how to do the install. It seems like everyone has their own way of doing it. I want to know if I can do everything I need to do with only what is given to me in the kit. Thanks in advance!

Doesn't Toyota sell an OEM fog light kit for their cars, or has it been discontinued for the 2nd Gen Yaris? Why is the aftermarket not capable of making a true plug-and-play 'OEM' aftermarket kit? Seems sort of strange to me.

The kit appears to have have everything you need but it is not necessarily the easiest way to install it. Biggest problem I can see is running the wires through the firewall.

Not how I would do it. I would install it like Bairjo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bilhPerqVEo

What do the connectors look like? That'll determine how you install it

If you got it from Garm like I did, then look up this thread and under the second post, CTScott has a set of instructions. I'm assuming its going to be the same as far as the wires and connectors.

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54394

It took me a couple of hours to get it done. Fairly easy. Only thing I would say would be to read through the instructions and maybe check the fuse box under the dash to see if there is fuse there or not before you start, just so you don't have to go running around for one once you connected everything.

The kits that Garm is selling on ebay are not the same as the plug and play kits he sold on Micro Image. The lights are the same but they have generic wiring. Of course at $35 they are still a bargain.

My advise is to install the external components as described in the video by Bairjo and then use the instructions from M4one to show you your options for internal wiring.

Agreed on the first point, but the instructions you mentioned are for the plug-and-play kit, not the one Garm is currently selling. Looking through the pictures he posted on ebay, (http://m.ebay.ca/itm/171838703222 - pictures 4 and 5) it looks to me like the kit the OP got is actually the Esuse fog light kit. I'm thinking that maybe I bought one of the last plug and play kits Garm still had. Glad I was able to pick it up even though it was a lot more than the unmodified version. Didn't need to deal with the headache of figuring out how to install them again.

I realized that the diagrams were for the Garm's plug and play version but they are detailed enough that the OP might be able to get an idea of whats involved in the internal wiring.

I am still leaning towards getting a stalk but I might also just wire up a switch using option 1 (on/off with low beams). My biggest issue is the Sedan doesn't have that little space next to the mirror button for a small switch.

There are 2 connector, red/white, and, orange/red. I think white/red goes to the battery because it goes to a 15amp fuse, and it's a thicker gauge. The other, red/orange, I imagine goes to the fusebox somewhere?

I'll post a diagram soon.

I have all of the parts on hand to convert the kits to plug n play kits. You would have to ship me the harness and I would modify it and ship it back. If you are interested PM me.

What extra parts do I need? Is there not a way to install it using the hardware supplied, with a few extra wires and butt connectors?

The name on the box is Carway, and it's for a 2006-11 Yaris sedan.

Ok here's a quick drawing of the wiring. Sorry about the size, but I thought it would be easier to see.

The problem with those type of kits is that they are not designed to be used with the OEM wiring, so to use them you have to modify the internals of the switch assembly.
