Radio Install Help
I bought an all in one radio off ebay and installed it in my Yaris. I made a video showing what problem I am having with it.
If anyone knows how I can fix this please let me know! Here is what is happening. When I turn on the car the radio comes on and seems like everything is good, but no sound plays. When I click the band button it will change to FM2 and the noise/music will come on. When I shut it off and turn it back on the same thing happens over and over. PLEASE Help. I tried to attach a video but I cant figure it out. https://youtu.be/gXB8vu0b8T4 here is the link to my video Last edited by cgk239; 04-04-2015 at 08:47 PM. |

Check and see if the constant 12v is connected to a switch 12v source.

this is the radio I bought. The wires are all hooked up correct except two which i did not connect. They are two that say tx-can and rx-can. This unit has alot of extras on it like the back up camera and wheels controls etc so i believe those went to something like that and my yaris does not have them. If I do need to use those does anyone know where those wires are? I noticed the back of the stock radio had 4 wiring harnesses on it. I only use two harnesses for this new radio. but thats all that comes with the radio and when I checked up cruntchfield.com that is all that came up as needed. The memory for the radio stays. Like all presets stay on. Just no sound when the radio is first turned on. Once I spam the "band" button the sound/radio works. any ideas? Is it just what happens when you go cheap? |

well i posted a reply with a link of the radio i bought. I guess it has to be approved?
anyways. All wires are hooked up proper and the radio keeps the memory because the presets stay. I just have to spam the band buttom at start up to get the radio to play. the radio will not play music or sound when first turned on and wont even pick up channels until i scroll through the band button. The two wires that I dont have hooked up are the tx-can and rx-can. This radio has alot of extras on it like a back up camera and wheel controls. I am thinking these wires go to the extras that my yaris doesn't have. There were four wiring harasses on the back of my stock radio but the new radio only used two of the harness. When I looked it up on crutchfield it also said i only need those harnesses. Any help would be awesome! |

Radio Install Help
Maybe your radio is defect.
Anything else not working beside the AM/FM radio? CD player? MP3? |

I don't have any dvds or cds with me to test it. I guess this is what happens when you buy cheap.
Any idea what the Rx-can and Tx-can wires are for? ( on the new radio harness ) or what the other 2 harnesses are for on the back of the stock radio? |

Hi
Can you give the exact brand and model of the radio, so we can find the datasheet? Best! |

TxCAN and RxCAN would be CANBUS based serial communications for between the radio and the car. Not needed and i doubt a Toyota would have those in the harness in a yaris.
