30 seconds door panel removal (Liftback)

Seriously! It shouldn't take you more than 30 seconds to do this. Here's a pictured tutorial for you guys to enjoy!

I don't have a window crank, but you can remove it in 2 seconds using a rag as it has been explained in other posts. It's just a pin that holds it and the rag makes it pop out easily... Now to the pictures!

Hahaha! Yes, it sure takes more than 30 seconds to do it the right way, but it's a pretty easy procedure anyway...

you slide it behind the crank, where it is attached through the door panel, that little horseshoe shaped clip is what is holding the crank onto the door.

pull the rag from either end, and it will grab on the clip, and pull it off of the crank ;) hope that helps

Have you ever seen the Renault Twingo? The interior is made by Fisher Price, no joke.

I miss my '01 Twingo Université.... such a solid and swifty ride (and none of the endless rattles that drive me insane in the Yaris)

Is one suppose to use something to replace the protective plastic before putting it back together? Like cover the inside with sound dampening material as well as the outside? Does rain from the windshield get to the inside of the door/speaker area? Any consequences if I re-attach the door panel with the protective plastic removed?

Oh, yep, it really is this easy. It took less than 2 minutes to get to the bone of the door, and start putting in butyl mat. Only bleeding from two knuckles!

I believe I read in the user manual that the recommended entry procedure if you don't have a key, is to break the rear side window.

that is moronic, have you looked at window replacement costs? i have a habit of locking my key in my car, i think i've done it 5 or 6 times now, finally just remembered to put an extra key in my wallet.

If you have power locks from the factory and leave the keys in the ignition, the car won't lock!
I tried it every way and the lock "fights" you and keeps on opening itself!
Cool...
This WON'T work if you leave keys on seat or dashboard, sorry..
