Is Maintenance Required Light ONLY for oil change reminder? - Toyota Yaris Forums

Is there any other reason the maintenance required light would come on or is it's only purpose to remind me of regular oil changes?

The reason I ask is that I change the oil about 1,000 miles ago and the light has already come on. I was sure I reset the light and my wife also says she remembers that it was on before I did the oil change. Of course, this has me second guessing myself: am I just remembering wrong and I didn't reset it?

Should I just reset it or do I need to get the codes read/start troubleshooting?

Sorry if this has been covered; I did a search and all I could find was topics about how to reset the light and stuff like that.

Thanks, fnkngrv. That's all I could find in the manual, just wanted to confirm because I could have sworn that I did reset the light.

Guess I'll just reset it and be sure to do it again at the next oil change.
