85-90, but that was on the 80 mph limit stretch of I-10 in Texas between the Hudspeth/El Paso County line (near mile marker 61) and mile marker 494, and people were still passing me.. I have driven another car just under 150 and I've ridden shotgun in a 911 going 160.

Ya'll oughta be ashamed of yourselves. It's lunatics like you that kill people on the road. Just last week a young couple was killed by some idiot blazing on the highway at 175 km/h. He didn't lane change in time and slammed into them. Both dead, both not even 25, had been married only 4 months. And the idiot who murdered is still alive somehow. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I like speed just as much as anyone else, but keep it to abandoned backroads and racing tracks/strips. Not highways with innocent people on them. It's selfish and foolish.

Tell us what you really think ? Hey .. it is all about what people can do to show off and get themselves on YouTube. I do agree .. the highways are not the place to see what your car can do. Myself .. I am very scared of speed .. so I go the speed limit.

The fastest I have ever gone was 220 KM/H on the Autobahn in Germany. I was in the backseat .. I wasn't driving. I think that I did something in my pants .. as that is twice as fast as we are allowed to go on the highways here in Canada.

Was the 175 km/h driver young? We males sometimes do stupid things while driving until our frontal lobes have finished developing.

Don't lump all of the posts together. When I mentioned the fastest I had ever driven any car, I didn't say it was on a road that had any speed limit whatsoever. The 160 mph trip in the 911 was in California but, as I stated, I wasn't driving. The driver was much older and should have known better.

The Autobahn and Autostrade are HIGHWAYS. Both systems are controlled access, but they aren't backroads nor racetracks (despite that some drivers ACT to the contrary). One can get a ticket within either system for impeding traffic/driving too slowly. Every situation is different. I would agree that in a majority of cases, especially in North America, slower is better.

you're right, and believe it or not, I'm very scary of going high speed and only I find courage when the highway is empty and going only me on the car, that's why I was going that fast for a short time

As previous folks have said please don't lump everyone together. My forays into the 100+mph arena have been track only. Thanks.

110 MPH one time, and then I slowed down because I didn't want to get a speeding ticket. And, I had some pedal left, it will probably go 120 top speed!

160km/h with a 1.0 3 cylindre engine. Only have a K&N i57 Cold Air filter.
Also I had 4 people in the car with me... so pretty nice I'd say...

I think when I'm alone in the car I could get to 170 and maybe 180 :)

The GPS in my Yaris shows 83 mph. But I've gone 202 mph on a ZX14.

while they were limited to 115, i have hit 117mph and was just passing half way through 4th gear. mods are listed below, i am confident in 125 possibility given the right conditions and a set of tires capable of such speeds.
