7.5 too wide?

currently running 205/50/16 on 7'' wheel.

I want to run 17 with 45 sidewall but they will be 7.5 wide.

I get rub over large dips in the front(clip that attaches front bumper cover)

Reason for 7.5 is that I can get a good deal on used.
