Post your latest oil change

I am curious what people use in their Yaris.

I used Toyota Genuine oil for $3.25 a quart and a Toyota oil filter for $6.20.bought it from my local dealer. Through some research, i found that Toyota oil filter is one of the best. What about Toyota Genuine oil? is it decent?

Whatever is on sale. I like Purolator oil filters at Pep Boys cause theyre often on sale for $3-4. I get the ones for a Camry. Theyre longer but otherwise fit. PB often have 5 qts oil and a P filter for $10-12.

I use Mobil1 5w-20 with a Mobil1 filter, every 7500 miles. Improved both my mpg, and engine vibrations after I switched to this.

Toyota filter 5-6$ and they usually throw in the drain plug washer. RedLine full synthetic $9.99/qt. x3 if I still have half a qt. left over from the last change. My car takes exactly 3.5 qt. to read pefectly full after filter change and being run for a few minutes. Overkill I'm sure, but I'm just curious to see what if any the effects are of running this fancy motor oil. So far MPG are always in the 40's and engine purrs like a kitten-very smooth.

I use Castrol GTX and a Purolator PureOne filter at 3k intervals. I've used this combo for years with no issues.

Dealership gave me free oil changes for 80,000 miles, so I just use what they put in it...which seems to be Toyota Brand something or other strained straight from the waters of the Gulf

Dang, Jason, you're throwing money down the drain (assuming that's the 25k/1 year Amsoil).

As for me, I use 0w-20 Amsoil and Napa Gold (made by WIX) oil filter. Coming up on my yearly change. hahaha.

Mobil 1 AFE 0W-30 ($21 for 5 qt jug at wally world) and $8 Fram Xtended guard filter (the "good" fram) every 5k miles due to lots of stop n go and short trips. Going to do an oil analysis next change to see how much further I can safely take the oil. Engine seems to vibrate less at idle once I stopped going to the dealership (and using their toyota oil) and doing my own oil change with Mobil 1.

+1, with Mobil 1 filter. Coming up to 5K miles and the oil is still looks a golden brown.

In my sig.

Cool thread. Many ways to "skin a cat" and it's interesting to read what others use. Strong Mobil 1 and Amsoil showing!

Last week I paid about $25 for a toyota oil filter & 5 qts of mobil1 5w30. In 5,000miles I'll switch out the filter, and go another 5k before doing an oil change... So... total cost for 10,000 miles is around $28.xx
