I need HELP!!!

Ok so I was a genius and broke my passenger side glass mirror. I purchased a new one and decided to do it myself. I was able to take the plastic backing off from the old shattered glass, but the problem is, it was screwed onto the bulb thing that has the mechanism where you can mount the mirror. So now that part is off and I can't seem to get it back on. It's the white bracket where you can snap everything on to, the long screw and washer, a spring, and a piece that looks like half of an egg. It won't screw back on the way it was before. Can anyone help me please?!?!

Don't think many of us have had the mirrors apart. You will probably have to wait for CTScott to stumble upon your post. He is the only person who has completely taken apart every aspect of this car. Fortunately for you, he is a very active member so you shouldn't have to wait to long.

^LOL.

I have had the mirrors apart a few times, but I don't think that I have taken the white bracket off the ball. When you change the mirror glass you don't have to remove that part, you just snap the black mirror frame off the movable white frame.

Did the white frame come off the ball while you were disassembling it, or did you purposely take it apart?

I have a couple of spare mirrors on hand, so I can take a look at one to see what you are dealing with.
