Differences in dash between sedan and HB

I noticed that the HB has different plastic around the radio then the sedan. Looks like on my sedan that I could never really replace the radio because the dash is custom made for the stock radio. Will the dash for the HB fit in the sedan?

From what I have been told you can pick up the face plate for the "normal" stock radio which runs around 75 bones....then you can put in your own unit. Someone even provided the part number in one of the threads, but right now I am at a loss on where.

yeah, just recived my non upgraded trim piece, a few days ago, paid 67$ at the dealer, and you can use it to replace the stock "intigrated" deck. not sure of part number, but if you really want it, i can go get it, but your local parts guy should be able to find it no problem :)

you only need to get it, if you ahve the integrated headunit, with the big green screen. otherwise you already have it around your radio

but when i ordered it, i just said "the dash trim around the radio, the one without the integrated unit" and they found it :)

My toyota didn't know what I was talking about...saying that there's only one option...

They said to try and get the part number...so if you could that would be perfect

thanks a lot

Yea I went to the toyota dealer today, and it looks like they could order the part for me. Unfortunately we THINK it's the right part, as the picture was small, but he said there's only like 8 right now in the whole U.S.! But it costs like $96! F that for now.... I think I'll wait to see if the price may go down or can find it somewhere else....

Does anyone know if the top dash piece is interchangeable between the two? The liftback has the drivers glovebox where the sedan doesn't.

Is that a no?

I do know that some options are limited by model. What I don't know is if dimensionally, that top dash panel is the same or not. Could things be routed differently through the dash? Has anyone ever tried?
