Lack of pick up

I have vitz 99 with automatic tramission.I feel lack of accleration/pick up when AC is on. Please help in this regard.

Well, you can look around in the performance section of this forum, but there are quite a few options, from reducing weight, upgrading intake and exhaust components, to the addition of a turbo or supercharger

the air conditioning puts quite a strain on a small engine, if you want more pick-up, have to shut the a/c off or turn it down.

personally, i think the yaris is pretty decent with the a/c on, a lot better than my old car.

I'm not sure if the yaris does this, but I know some sports cars will automatically shut off the AC temporarily if the gas pedal is pressed past a certain amount... pretty cool system!

As others have mentioned you have the a/c on and that effects get up and go more so in a small displacement car than one with a V6 or V8 generally speaking also you mentioned you have an automatic, there is another obsticle. Obviously you can get mods to counter act these odds.

I would turn off the ac.... roll down the windows and enjoy the heat... it's freezing out here!!
