Spacers have arrived!

Very happy to receive a Canada Post notification that my parts have arrived. Thanks, invader166! Loved the 'refreshing looking' shipping box, too!

The 08 goes into the shop tomorrow to get the H&R 10 mm spacers put on. Here's hoping the longer studs will go in without having to remove the hub. Fingers crossed. If hub removal is necessary, it will just be good paractice for putting the Penguin spacers on the '06, which is the next job.

Beauty. Supplied studs appear to be of a length that will not cause issues when it comes to putting them in there.

So awesome. Hang tight. I'm going to add a pic of the studs to give you a better look.

Pic... Can you confirm WeeYari, that these will indeed go in without removing the hub? Of course, I won't hold it against you if I can't get them in due to my mechanical ineptitude, LOL! Not sure what the longer greyish bolts on the right are for.

Don't need one. Can clearly see they are a good length.

So, if all goes as planned, I'll have some before and after pics tomorrow. Thanks!

Spacers installed

I made a collossal screw up. After removing the drum to replaced the studs, I forgot to replace the drum and attempted to install the spacers directly to the wheel hub. Anyway, I had to machine lathe out a bit of the lip inside the spacer bore to make it fit I wasn't thinking. Bolted it all back together and went for a drive. It drove fine, but had an almost imperceptible bit of wheel wobble when looking at it in the mirror. Back to shop, realizing what I'd done and put the spacer outside this time. I hadn't removed enough material to make the hub bore loose. The other side, I did properly.

The studs went in easily with a bit of fiddling.

On to the pics. Although they don't show the difference really well, in person it does look much better and more obvious.

3 new long studs installed. Rear brake job tomorrow. :)

Haha, glad someone else could see the difference. The kids in the shop all laughed that someone would put spacers on a Yaris. Of course, they're mostly into big off-roading trucks and such and only feel that such vehicles deserve spacers.

The '06 will be getting its Penguin spacers installed in a few weeks.
