My goal it's not competing, but I feel very capable to do it right and not having to experiment much, I can make it sound as good or even better than the Yaris did.

I'm keeping everything clean, safe and OEM look, optimizing for Sound Quality, definitely a casual commuter Demo car for the WOW factor! and not afraid to listed in a competition if I have the opportunity I will.

But to be honest, at the end of the day... it's pure self satisfaction.

I fired it up!

Connected a pair of Mid-Bass in small boxes and position them in the kick are trying to achieve best location and aiming to create a good stage, with the 12" ID subwoofer in a sealed box in the trunk.

X-over for the midbass was around 80Hz for HPF and 1.6 kHz for LPF thinking the ID mini-horns will take it from there.

After adjusting Phase, Levels, x-over, slopes and Time alignment I had a decent stage (from 20Hz to 1.6kHz), center image is about my chin-nose level in the center of the dashboard between the digital screen and the windshield, the width was about the sail panels and the a-pillars with no rainbow effect, depth was good too, but without the horns it's hard to appreciate the overall stage.

My plan is to install the left Mid-Bass in kick area as far left posible, I took out the plastic panel that covers the kick area to gain a couple of inches on the pilots side where also the left horn will be installed.
This makes the stage wider.

The PB amp only supplies 250 watts for the subwoofer and it's no match to the IDQ12 but even like this produces a good punch in my chest and blends really nice up front. In my regular driving position I can't tell the subwoofer is sitting in the trunk everything is coming from the windshield like it supposed to be, only if I turn my head 15-20 or more degrees right or left the subwoofer can be localized.

On the Yaris was like 160-180 pounds extra, I weigh 204 so it's just like having a passenger with me all the time, but...

He is very quite and makes the commute very pleasant, still was getting 42 MPG and I almost forgot... music was awesome!

Happy New Year!

I have a naive question...

I would like to install a remote starter to my Toyota Sienna, I've never got into this kind of goodies but my wife would like to have it.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I've done many subwoofer boxes, with good tuning and instal I had great results, and sometimes really bad experiences, but that's the learning process.

Some have been sealed, ported, isobaric or bandpass but I've never done an Infinite Baffle!

Yes this foam is my guide for the baffle, I thought about how to trim and fit, and how to cut it, but never really thought about how to put it in place; with the same angle of the rear seats, it's almost impossible to get it in position, I may have to cut it smaller then work around to seal the edges partially isolating the trunk from the cabin and most important is to get a strong mechanically support(s).

Also on the side, today I got a text message from Eric Stevens that my mini horns are ready to ship!

Hopefully I'll have some 3D music in Spring!

Going back in the past, reading my own thread... I'm going to answer some of my audio questions posted here, I'm sure this would help many to understand what I've been learning in the last 7 years since I got my Yaris...
