Side impact air bags... do I have them?
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can tell me if I have side impact airbags in the seat and the corresponding side impact curtain airbags. The owner's manual says they are optional. On my VW Golf TDi the seats have a labels to indicate they contain the side impact air bags. I ask this because I want to put seat covers on the front seats, but wouldn't do so if it would interfere with the the SRS. thanks... PS. Yaris 2008 sedan, with cruise etc. |

likewise, there should be a tag stitched into the seat mentioning this... Also your A pillar trim should have some kind of airbag badge

Did you by the car new? It would have clearly indicated that on the window sticker. And you probably would've noticed the extra $600 (or so) in the price.
Nonetheless, all equipped vehicles do have the badge on the pillar and seat. So if you don't see them, you don't have them. |

FYI, Clazzio seat covers are approved for use with airbags.

Thanks for the advice and confirmation. I did buy new, but don't know if can find the sticker. Anyway, I'm sure now I don't have side airbags. So now to look for some seat covers. The seats are light tan and will mark in an instant. I have towels on them at the moment. I also think the cloth is paper thin compared to most cars.. looks like it's just thin cloth stuck on molded foam.

I have the same tan cloth with 50,000 miles and it still looks new.
You don't really need covers. But to each their own. |
