Which Gearbox oil UK?
Hi all,
So I have a 1.4 litre diesel Toyota Yaris and since I do all the servicing myself, thought it was about time to replace the gearbox oil as I have a couple grinding issues infrequently. The car has done 176000 miles so far and I want to run it to at least 200000 so are there any high mileage gearbox oils that may be better for this car, or failing that, something to help the gears not be so stiff and rubbish to change when cold? I believe the gearbox oil says to use 75w-90, but if people can give me suggestions on oils to see if it does help the above problems then that will be much appreciated. I am in the UK though, so I will need to know whether I can get it over here. Final thing, what gaskets need to be replaced on the fill and drain plugs? Are they a washer basically, or something different that is best to get from Toyota? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! |
