Canonball Yaris!

Made a last minute decision this weekend
to drive 400+ miles round trip to Daytona for the rolex 24hr. To have some extra fun I put my radar detector and waze to good use and went 90+ the whole time. Ended up vacuuming up the tank with mpg of 22.8 lol. I usually average 28 with heavy city driving and some highway, getting over 30 still happens with more normal driving.

With 160k I haven't taken it easy on this little car, though I'm an oil/filter nerd so that should help it, oil loss is still minimal at 6k synth interval.

some random thoughts, I really wonder how other compacts like a fiesta ecoboost would've lasted under these conditions. Also is a pulley failure loud and obvious? I hear a very faint spun bearing sound when I rev the engine. I have no play in any of them and idle is still quiet, I'm just more paranoid at this age/mileage I guess.

Ill be posting an oil analysis later on this year, cheers to the 1nz fe

Ouch, I guess the Yaris doesn't fair well with wind drag. lol

As far as that sound you're having, could it be a failing water pump? If you haven't replaced it yet, and you're at 160k, I'd be very surprised since the WP sucks pretty bad on the Yaris.

+1 mine went at around 125k if I remember and the sound you're describing could be that. Can you get a video of it?
