Yaris gets chewed on

While on a construction site a few weeks ago I had to briefly park the Yaris in a horse corral. Knowing the damage they can do, myself and two others kept a close eye on them. We were backfilling a water line trench it got pretty busy but I still kept an eye on the 7 horses and a few times I noticed they were gathered around the car but not ripping the windshield wipers off or rubbing the side mirrors so I just yelled at them a bit and they moved off.

This happened a couple of times in the next 10 minutes or so. Job completed, I was able to drive out of there, and later drove home. The next morning, on loading up the dog, for the first time I noticed deep scratchs in the hatchback, right down to bare metal. Worst of all, on one side there were, in addition to more scratchs a big dent! The horses were not just licking, but biting. This is common, I was told by the body shop I took it to, something in modern auto paint drives them crazy, they really like it.

I wasn't going to say anthing about a few scratchs, but the dented side and then a few more scratchs noticed the next day drove me over the edge. I asked the guy who owned the property (they were his daughters horses) if he had homeowners insurance, and then showed him the damage. As the reason I was there was to his benefit, and we both don't have much use for horses, I didn't feel bad about hitting his insurance company with the repair bill, he hadn't had a claim in 53 years with the same company. He's 93 BTW. $1340.00, and it looks like new, for some reason they sent me $1390.00, so I made 50 bucks. This is the picture I included to the insurance agent, the guilty look of the horse on the left being all the proof they needed to promptly pay the claim. Note the dog looking away, he was of no help as he is afraid of them.

You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

Great pic. I used to visit my cousin's horse.....fortunately the parking lot was elevated above the barn and the trails. He loves it when people hand feed him carrots. And he also loves 'his' dog. I had no idea he'd be attracted to car paint! He's in a new pasture now (that I haven't seen), so I'll have to tell my cousin to make sure she parks her little SUV where her horse can't get to it!
